Following Instructions and Computers

For this whole week we have been learning about the algorithms of computers and how they differentiate from the human mind. Computers need details, instructions, and a step by step rule of what they need to do before they can perform a certain action. Whereas humans on the other hand do not need such help and we can do everything by "figuring it out", or using our brains to solve and answer the question to things that the answer may not be given to us. On Friday December 4, we had a class work to do, which was create an algorithm on how to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, in where our teacher was the computer, and we were the programmers. From that I learned how complicated it is to program a computer and add different scenarios to the programming so the computer doesn't meet a certain situation and doesn't know what to do.

Data, Modeling and Design

During this week we worked on photoshoping a picture, this lighthouse, and customizing it. It was a fun expereicne because I've never used Photoshop before and doing so for the first time was fascinating. The advantage of using photoshop is that you can edit a photo however you want to strengthen your point on a certain topic. The disadvantage of such a tool is that it can be misleading and can feed people the wrong or maybe the right information such as politics.

How Data Tells A Story

Data is used to make a record of something based on facts and statistics. What I learned in my computer business class about data was basically revolved around the topic of data, and how it is and can be used. Data is generated through collected information, cell phones, search engines, etc. and it is stored on a computer by files and or by programming.

Searching The Web

We learned that of course the web was not how we now it is now and there were different versions like web 1.0, web 2.0, and web 3.0. The difference between these webs are that; web 1.0 was most likely slow and probably had low quality definition, graphics were horrible and most websites that we used today didn't exist. web 2.0 was when the web provided information to the user and the user could also upload information. web 3.0 (which is what we are on now) has augmented reality where there is like a bridge between the web and reality.  We also did a scavenger hunt by searching up different search engines and finding information from, apart from just using google we used duckduckgo, YouTube, bing, etc. We learned that the web could've been personalized and filtered some information without out knowledge. keeping information that may be useful to us, away, and giving us information the internet thinks we want to know.

Case Study

From the assignment of finding what product fit our consumers needs, what I learned was how to find the items of what people want based on their description of the item. I could apply this to my own life if I were to become a salesperson or wanted to shop online for a specific thing. Finding exactly what you want at times may be difficult because it took more time than expected but I overcame that by adding more details and filtering other things in which I didn't need and that helped me pin point the perfect product for the consume.

How I Use The Internet

What I usually do on the web is look for new anime shows to keep myself entertained or just watch old ones because they were so memorable, search up things to help me understand my homework better, and just at times surf the web when I have no specific thing to find. The amount of time I spend on the internet daily is quite tremendous mainly because there's always something new to find and always something to do that's fun and when you do find something that catches your eye, time flies.

Peer Interview

From the Pear Interview, we learned about ourselves. What we have in common and what were our differences. It also helped us as students get closer to each other and know what makes us unique as humans and helped us interact more. Being so close to my friend and seeing how he was different from me in many ways and also at the same time similar was really fun and interesting.

What Is Computer Science?

Computer science is the study and use of computers.It also reaches the study of expressions, structure and communication of and access to information. Most people know how to use a computer and figure out how it functions. It doesn't take much to learn the basics of handling one or knowing what it does.
